In 1988, Pope John Paul II declared Mary Potter venerable. This
is the first in a succession of steps toward sainthood. Her legacy is tangible
as our employees, staff, physicians, volunteers and Sisters work side by side
each day to continue to fulfill Mary Potters mission and provide
high-quality health care to those in need. Marys loving spirit continues
to guide the work of her spiritual heirs today. The spiritual heritage of Mary
Potter is carried on throughout the world. The Sisters of Little Company of Mary
now provide much-needed services in 14 countries on five continents. Their healing
touch can be felt in: England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Albania, Wales,
Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Italy, The Kingdom of Tonga
and the United States.
Today, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers, San Pedro, Torrance
and more than 25 other health care delivery sites and outreach services comprise
the integrated health care system of Providence Little Company of Mary. Serving
the greater South Bay, Harbor and Palos Verdes Peninsula communities, we are
dedicated to the mission of the Sisters of Little Company of Mary, as well as
providing quality health care for its communities.
