Little Company of Mary recognizes in its mission the importance of caring for
individuals who might not otherwise have access to these services. In the spirit
of the organizations foundress, Venerable Mary Potter, we make visible the
healing presence of Jesus by providing necessary medical health care services,
while preserving individual respect and dignity.
Who Qualifies for Care?
To qualify a patient must:
| |
Have demonstrated a need for medical health care services
|
| |
Be unable to pay for their care and have exhausted all available
resources,
|
| |
leaving only the Mary Potter Program for Human Dignity
to fulfill the need
|
| |
Reside within the Little Company of Mary service area
|
What Services are Available?
All medical health care services normally provided by Little Company of Mary
affiliated hospitals, sub-acute and long-term care facilities, home health care
agencies, as well as outpatient, professional and physician services, are
available.
How are Services Accessed?
Anyone can refer an applicant to the program. Upon referral, applicants cases
are evaluated based on family size, income, assets, expenses, ability to work, age
and severity of medical need. Once accepted by the Mary Potter Program for Human
Dignity, staff members will attempt to arrange physician participation if it does
not already exist. Generous donations of time and talent by participating physicians
are, in great part, responsible for the success of our program. When an applicant is
admitted to a Little Company of Mary facility for care, there is no distinction made
of any kind. Program participants receive the same compassionate, high quality care
as all of our patients with no exceptions.
How Can I Help?
The Mary Potter Program for Human Dignity is funded directly through the annual budget
of Little Company of Mary and from generous donations from the community. The amount of
care that can be provided is limited only by the funds available to support it. In
order to help achieve our programs objectives, support from community members
is essential. Any amount is greatly appreciated and tax-deductible and allows us to
continue direct care for those who are in need.
