Nurses Nominate Nurses
Clinical excellence did not go unnoticed as LCM nurses once again took top
honors at the 2004 NurseWeek Nursing Excellence Awards. Susan Revero, RN,
Clinical Educator for the New Grad Speciality Program, was the winner of
the Nursing Excellence Mentoring Award for providing a positive professional
influence, guidance and support of other nurses in any setting. Honored at
the awards gala, Revero responded, I am still in shock. It is truly
an incredible honor and privilege. Thank you.

Each year, the statewide nursing publication NurseWeek asks nurses to
nominate nurses, recognizing their abilities to inspire and push the
boundaries in the art of nursing. With over 280,000 registered nurses
in the state, three nurse finalists represented LCM, each vying for the
top spot in one of eight categories. In addition to Reveros win in
the mentoring category, finalists included Gehan (Gigi) Henien, RN, for
clinical care and Kathleen Calderon, RN, for patient
advocacy.
