Blood Donor Center

Blood is essential in the treatment of many illnesses and injuries. Providence Little Company of Mary transfuses blood to its patients who suffer from diseases such as cancer or leukemia, as well as patients who undergo surgical procedures. The need for blood is great. Approximately 10,000 units of blood components are transfused at Providence Little Company of Mary facilities annually.

It is not possible to manufacture blood. The only source of human blood is from people like you — people who realize the need for blood to help patients. The Blood Center at Providence Little Company of Mary relies greatly on donations from community members.

In addition to community donations, The Blood Donor Center has programs for autologous donations (donating blood for your own needs) and directed donations (blood donation from a specified donor). These options should first be discussed with your physician.
