The blood supply used by our patients at Providence Little Company of Mary is
continually in short supply. The Transfusion Service relies largely upon
the American Red Cross of Southern California for its supplies. The Blood Donor
Center augments the resources of Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers,
which helps to maintain an adequate blood supply for the emergency and chronic
transfusion needs of the South Bay Community. This becomes especially vital during
the holidays and through the summer months, when supplies from the American Red
Cross become critically low.
